. . .And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery,
which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God,
who created all things by Jesus Christ. (Eph 3:9)

WHAT IS THE COMMISSION OF THE CHURCH?
Commission—An authoritative order, charge or direction. To authorize,
Send on a mission; Authority to act as an agent for another.
In the Lord’s absence, what are we to be doing in his stead?
Why is there so much confusion in the carrying out of our Lord’s instruction to the Church?
Why are there so many different denominations and groups, each with doctrines contrary to one another, but claiming the Bible as their source of instruction?
What about the wide variety of interpretations concerning tithing, speaking in tongues, divine healing, Sabbath observance, name it and claim it, purging, baptism, fasting, and many other doctrines that are discussed in Scripture?
Surely the Lord is not the author of such confusion. Is there an answer to the confusion of our times? Yes there is!
Confusion is dispelled when we acknowledge the Apostle Paul as God’s messenger concerning the ascended Lord Jesus Christ in this present dispensation of grace. It is Paul who proclaims the good news of the Cross in its fullest revelation. In Acts 20:24 Paul says that the gospel of the grace of God was committed to his care.
Listen to Paul as he boldly proclaims in Romans 11:13, “For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the Apostle of the Gentiles, I
MAGNIFY MINE OFFICE.” Because of a failure to obey Paul’s instruction in II Timothy 2:15 to rightly divide the word of truth, the masses of Christendom have confused our Lord’s earthly ministry to ISRAEL with His later instructions given to Paul concerning the Body of Christ, our heavenly calling and ministry in this present dispensation of grace.
In His earthly ministry, Jesus Christ proclaimed: “I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” (Matthew 15:24)
He came unto his own, and his own received him not. (John 1:11)
Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers. (Romans 15:8)
Traditionally it has been accepted by mainstream Christianity that the kingdom gospel proclaimed in Christ’s earthly ministry mirrors His message to the Church. But to which Church is Christ ministering—the Body of Christ or the House of Israel? The failure to distinguish between Israel and the Body of Christ has caused untold confusion in the obedience of certain mandates found in Scripture.
If you would like to get a fuller understanding of Christ’s ministry to the Church, which is His Body, and learn from Scripture what our commission is today, please come see us at:
